Biography:
Valery Gennadievich Sorokin was born in 1963 in Grodno. In 1980 he entered the Grodno State University, Faculty of Mathematics. After completing the 2nd year of the Faculty of Mathematics at Grodno State University, he entered the Kaliningrad Higher Engineering Order of Lenin, Red Banner School of Engineering Troops named after A.A. Zhdanov, which he graduated from in 1987 (specializing in the operation and repair of engineering weapons). In parallel, he continued his studies in the correspondence department at the Faculty of Mathematics at Grodno State University, which he graduated in 1986 with a degree in Mathematics.
Since October 2007, Valery Gennadyevich Sorokin has been working at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. In 2012, Valery Gennadyevich Sorokin completed his postgraduate studies and on June 23, 2017, he successfully defended his PhD thesis on the topic «Functional materials and products with components modified by non-destructive laser radiation». In 2019, he was awarded the academic title of associate professor in the specialty «Materials Science». Currently, he works as an associate professor at the Department of Materials Science and Resource-Saving Technologies.
