The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Technical Operation of Automobiles (ME&TOA) was established in July 2008 and is a core department for training mechanical engineers in the specialty 1-37 01 06 «Technical Operation of Automobiles» (TEA), 6-05-0715-07 «Operation of Land Transport and Technological Machines and Complexes». In addition, the department provides teaching of a number of disciplines for the specialty 1-36 01 04 «Equipment and Technologies for Highly Efficient Material Processing Processes». In fact, the department has created an actively interacting block of «mechanical science and engineering» and a block of «technical operation of automobiles». The department is the basis for providing educational and research processes in a set of mechanically oriented subjects for engineering specialties, as well as in a cycle of special disciplines, educational and industrial practices, coursework and diploma projects in the specialty «Technical Operation of Automobiles». Since September 2012, the department has been offering a master’s degree program in the specialty «Transport».

One doctor of science, 10 candidates of science, and six masters in the specialty «Transport» are involved in the educational process at the department.

The department interacts with personnel customers: OJSC «Bus Park of Grodno», LLC «Alfort», OJSC «GrodnoOblAvtoTrans», ODO TTS «KristallTrans», auto center for servicing hybrids and electric vehicles «Flagman», LLC «BVI-Trans».

Famous graduates of the department: Dmitry Anatolyevich Panasyuk — Director of LLC STO «ACG», Andrey Nikolaevich Lisitsa — First Deputy General Director of the OUPP «Grodno City Housing and Communal Services»; Olga Vladimirovna Kisel (graduate of the master’s program) — Head of the Transportation and Tourism Department of OJSC «Bus Park of Grodno»; Dmitry Aleksandrovich Linnik — Dean of the Engineering Faculty of the Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala.
